Chore Day, March 5, 2022 -- Doing research about cataract surgery and lens replacement

Besides doing the laundry and vacuuming, I watched a shit ton of Youtube videos about cataracts and lens replacement. With my set of physiological needs (myopia and severe astigmatism), I’m thinking that I’ll be getting monofocus lenses, which means that I’ll still be wearing glasses.

One of the virtues of monofocus lenses is their price. The cost of treating both eyes is about $5,000 cheaper than with tri-focal lenses. I’ll need glasses for intermediate and close vision but I’m okay with that.

I’ll be glad when I get this surgery worked out. Then I can think about something other than my eyes.

Post Election Day Fatigue

Jimmy and Betty are happy to move on from election day fatigue.

Jimmy and Betty are happy to move on from election day fatigue.

What a grueling few weeks it’s been. The election is wearing on me. I woke up at 2 AM last night and never really got back to sleep. With the anxiety I’m feeling, it’s been hard to focus on drawing. Looking at the map with all of those red states disgusts me. I think that 48% of Americans consciously choose to support a racist, narcissistic sociopath who consciously chooses to do evil to innocent children, to all of us, and to Mother Earth.

When I saw that Biden still had a chance to win the election, I felt some relief, but my disgust grows for the greedy social media companies that make billions by providing fascists and racists with a customized platform for spread their poison.
