When you only have 10 minutes to draw and you’re sitting at the kitchen table before you go to work, and you don’t want to draw your coffee cup for the 100th time, draw your hand. There’s nothing harder to draw and you’ll never get it just so. It’s the ideal model — it never looks the same, and you’ve always got it with you. Best of all, if you’re feeling impish, you can draw your fingers as if they were carrots.

I checked my Ingramspark sales for the month: zero. For last month: zero. Am I bummed out? Nope. I have faith that I will sell more books. All I have to do is write more books, books that I’m interested in. That sounds corny, but, hey, I’m a corny, cockeyed optimist, and I’m doing what I want to do.
