Alfresco Art Club: Gradient Map Challenge (continued)

Last week’s Al Fresco Art Club challenge was to color a comic cell using gradient maps in combination with a gray scale painting. I used Procreate’s built-in gradient maps for the first time and came up with this very digital look, which I definitely would never use for anything. Procreate’s gradient maps are easy enough to use, and it’s easy to create custom gradients. I do understand the value of using gradient maps for rapid production and for easily adjusting colors.

It was a fun challenge, but I don’t have a use for gradient maps in my books. Maybe someday I’ll see the light.
